Population Research UK Webinar
Population Research UK (PRUK), an initiative dedicated to maximising the potential of longitudinal population studies in the UK across social, economic and biomedical research, is hosting a webinar titled “Neonatal blood spots for research in longitudinal population studies: feasibility and experience from Generation Scotland” on Wednesday 14 October 2026, from 15:00 to 16:00, online.
The webinar will feature presentations from Riccardo Marioni, Robin Flaig and David Porteous from Generation Scotland, and will be chaired by Heather Whalley (Population Research UK and Generation Scotland).
During the session, speakers will explore the potential of neonatal blood spots as a valuable resource for longitudinal population health research and share their work investigating how archived newborn blood spots can be used to understand links between early-life biology and health across the lifespan.
There will also be an opportunity for questions and discussion, including the scientific, methodological and ethical considerations associated with using neonatal blood spots for longitudinal population health research.
